PMCE have extensive experience in Traffic Analysis and in preparaing & Traffic Assessments (TTA), for example for planning applications, relating to proposed developments, continuation of existing operations or for applications for licences in relation to quarry or waste related sites.

Our extensive experience in this regard has resulted in interaction with a significant number of the planning authorities within Ireland, and with some of the licensing agencies. As a result of this experience PMCE can offer Clients a comprehensive and cost effective service in relation to the analysis of traffic & the assessment of the transport related impacts arising from a proposed development for submission to planning authorities for assessment during their assessment of a planning application.

In addition PMCE have been involved in the transport modelling of National Road schemes, including a review and assessment of the effects of a proposed bypass and devising demand and journey matrices for monitoring of changes in the local infrastructure in order to inform decision making in relation to the particular scheme.

PMCE have extensive experience in assessing the needs of road construction projects from the perspective of the management of traffic. This experience has been gained from the perspective of road design & road safety audit.

With staff trained in the design of Temporary Traffic Management Arrangements, and the preparation of Traffic Management Plans in accordance with the Traffic Signs Manual, we can assist clients in preparing traffic management plans and/or undertaking Road Safety Audits proposed temporary traffic management arrangements.

In conjunction with PMCE's Road Safety Audit experience we can undertake Road User Audits, for example cycle audits & accessibility audits (sometimes referred to as access audits) where a proposed scheme is apprasied for accessibility in accordance with the Disability Act 2005

In addition to undertaking road user audits, cycle audits, access audits & accessibility audits, as required by a number of planning authorities for submission with a planning application, PMCE can advise Clients on issues to be addressed for accessibility in relation to new schemes or alteration of existing facilities.

PMCE has experience in the design of road and junction improvement schemes extending to schemes of all sizes for both private and public Clients. Mr. Peter Monahan, with over 15 years experience in road planning, road design and delivery of road & transportation projects, oversees the road design activities within PMCE. His experience encompasses road design and construction projects from minor junction improvements to motorway schemes. He has successfully worked with State Bodies, Local Authorities and the private sector and ensures that the design activities within PMCE deliver the high level of quality required by his Clients and to which they have become accustomed

Our services include project management of all aspects of road scheme project life cycles. Our experience extends from inception, route selection, statutory procedures, design and construction.

PMCE consider that the successful implementation of a project is enhanced considerably by the application of robust and systematised project management techniques. This includes the preparation, and regular updating, of a programme which identifies all relevant tasks all stakeholders in the design process - the Design Team, the Client and also representing external factors (e.g. Statutory Approvals). Durations and inputs (resources, etc.) are incorporated into the programme as are the agreed assignment of responsibilities to relevant parties.
